* The two smart card encoder modules available for the HDP5000 are multifunctional: The OMNIKEY 5121 encodes contact smart cards, and contactless HID iCLASS and MIFARE cards; the OMNIKEY 5125 encodes contact smart cards and contactless HID Prox cards (read-only). To take advantage of the contact smart card encoding capability in either OMNIKEY model, the encoder must be installed in a dual-sided HDP5000 printer. Fargo suggests ordering the OMNIKEY 5121 if the application only requires contact smart card encoding.

* All HDP5000 and DTC4500 lamination modules utilize a cartridge system to load overlaminate materials. A single-sided lamination module will utilize only cartridge 1, while a dual-sided simultaneous lamination module will utilize cartridges 1 and cartridge 2. The single-sided lamination module can be used for dual-sided lamination as long as the printer has a dual-sided printing module attached. The dual-sided simultaneous lamination module can be used for single or dual-sided lamination.
